European Tapestry Forum - an international textiltriennal and traveling exhibition produced by the ETF

As the only art gallery in Sweden shows Cultural Ronneby exhibition ARTAPESTRY 5, European Tapestry show - a juried international textiltriennal and traveling exhibition produced by the ETF.

European Tapestry Forum was founded in 2001. The association was created by a group of weavers from all over Europe who wanted to encourage the continued development of woven image as a viable artistic medium in Europe. With regular juried exhibitions ARTAPESRTY constitute ETF a showcase for works by contemporary image weavers and an opportunity for the works to appear for a large international audience.

Of a total of 67 applications with 118 works from 17 countries, selected 40 works to be included in the exhibition, represented by 38 artists from 12 European countries.

Although the predominant focus is woven works including jacquard, also more experimental approach had space in the exhibition. The main themes chosen can be widely categorized as abstract, decorative and complex, social issues, including family history, nature combined with philosophical issues and decorative images inspired by traditional fabrics.

Of a total of 66 applications from 17 countries and 117verk, selected 38 works to be included in the exhibition, represented by artists from 12 European countries.
